The literary device I found was "...a mighty maple,". That is an alliteration because m is a consanant, and it is repeating the same consonant sound at the beginning of the word. p.146.


The next literary device I found is, "Then I started to watch how much food the two kids put on their fork every time so I wouldn't look like a pig,". This is a simile. It is a good simile because pigs just stick their face into their food. Bud just wanted to seem like he was being calm and take not too small but not too big bites. p. 126.
